Vietnam Airlines, FPT Boost Strategic Ties for Digital Aviation

  • Vietnam Airlines and FPT signed an MoU to boost digital transformation using AI, cloud, and big data.

Vietnam Airlines has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the global tech company FPT to enhance their strategic cooperation comprehensively. The collaboration seeks to speed up comprehensive digital transformation, boost operational functions, and elevate customer satisfaction.

According to the agreement, Vietnam Airlines and FPT will work together to jointly design and execute a wide range of cutting-edge technology solutions, encompassing Generative AI, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Blockchain, IoT, and high-level digital platforms, all customized to improve operations and transform the passenger experience at every stage.

The national flag carrier is starting a next-generation e-commerce platform initiative, marking a strategic initial move in its overall digital transformation. The new system aims to provide a more tailored and intelligent customer experience while broadening its service ecosystem and promoting additional revenue growth.

The partnership includes the deployment of AI tools for customer interaction, content automation and personalization, the creation of a Customer Data Platform (CDP), chatbots, voicebots, extensive CRM and ERP systems, internal self-service platforms, and mobile e-commerce apps. It also entails implementing adaptable, scalable cloud infrastructure and data centers designed to meet changing business requirements.

Both parties will jointly invest in development projects, co-hold intellectual property, and split revenue from innovative technology solutions for aviation operations, with possibilities for expansion into regional and global markets.

Alongside digital transformation efforts, the collaboration will improve customer experience by merging Vietnam Airlines' loyalty system with FPT’s ecosystem, enabling customers to exchange mileage points for offerings within FPT’s education and retail networks.
