The establishment of Quantum Valley Tech Park positions Andhra Pradesh as a leading center for quantum innovation while operating under India's National Quantum Mission. Since the announcement of their strategic partnership Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and IBM teamed up with Andhra Pradesh Government to build the quantum ecosystem  of India together with industry leaders L&T. The establishment of this landmark technical park represents India's biggest quantum computer with its 156-qubit Heron processor installed within an IBM Quantum System Two.

The Quantum Valley Tech Park aims to accelerate quantum research and application development, fostering collaboration among academia, industry, and researchers. Through close collaboration with IBM TCS will develop algorithms and sector-specific use cases for life sciences, material science, cryptography as well as supply chain resilience and energy optimization and sustainable manufacturing. Through IBM’s quantum computing obligations the partnership works to solve complex problems that classical computing cannot handle and positions India as a leader in global quantum technology

N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, said, “India’s National Quantum Mission is to make India a global hub in the quantum industry. Andhra Pradesh is set to lead the global quantum revolution, becoming the first state in the world to envision a dedicated Quantum Valley as the foundation of its future economy. With quantum computing poised to transform every major sector in the next 25 years, the state aims to be a first mover in harnessing this emerging frontier.”

Technologists will have IBM’s quantum computing cloud capabilities with IBM Quantum System Two capabilities at the site following its completion. The built infrastructure will let researchers develop together with developers and industry specialists who can solve previously impossible problems through quantum advantage. The quantum solution integration expertise at TCS enables the development of a software platform which unites quantum technology with CPU and GPU system infrastructure.

“We are excited about our plans with the state of Andhra Pradesh to deploy our latest IBM Quantum System Two at the Quantum Valley Tech Park. Our collaboration with TCS will help attract the country’s thriving ecosystem of developers, scientists, and industry experts to develop algorithms and applications. Combining this with India’s National Quantum Mission we could see an acceleration of the next critical milestone, a successful demonstration of quantum advantage.” says Jay Gambetta, Vice President, and IBM Quantum.

Dr Harrick Vin, Chief Technology Officer of Tata Consultancy Services, said, “Hybrid architectures are the key to overcoming intractable computing challenges, with quantum computing serving as a catalyst.”

The initiative promises to develop high-skill jobs and activate international talent while pursuing investments to Andhra Pradesh with a newly built quantum environment. The Quantum Valley Tech Park presents a platform for empowering Indian industries and academic institutions to discover quantum-driven solutions which establishes India as a leader in emerging technologies.
